Butterflies, bees and fireflies. Learn to recognize insects and discuss their importance in nature.

CONTENTS

Learn the anatomy of insects through a presentation;

Discover artifacts and collections of preserved insects;

Handle a live insect (only in Montreal).*

*The choice of the live animal is at the discretion of the nature educator. In the event of a discomfort or phobia towards a particular animal, please specify when booking.

Preschool and Cycle One only:

Game to differentiate insects from critters.

‍

Cycles Two and Three only:

Educational game of association to discover the adaptations and habits of some common species.

‍

Additional 30 minutes:

Presentation of the life cycle of insects, with live insects representing the 3 stages of metamorphosis.

ADAPTED VERSION AVAILABLE

This version is specifically designed to suit various audiences with specific needs (not limited to school groups), including people who may be living with functional limitations.

Modifications include:
• Adjusted facilitation speed;
• Reduced working hours and regular breaks;
• Integration of adapted visual aids;
• Multisensory approaches to promote understanding and participation;
• Simple, concrete, and vivid language, suitable for all levels of comprehension;
• Encouraging participation through experience and hands-on learning rather than theory.

Tasting of seasoned insects available in Montreal (+ $9/group)
